BANGDA FISH  MASALA  / MACKERELS COOKED IN MASALA

There are many varieties of fishes in the world. Here I used Mackerels (BANGDA) for preparing this fish recipe.

INGREDIENTS
·         Mackerels  (बांगड़ा) – 2 medium size
·         Lemon juice - 1 table spoon
·         Turmeric powder – ½  tea spoon
·         Chili  powder – 2 to 3 table spoon
·         Salt to taste
·         Onion - 1
Masala  Ingredients
·         Chopped coconut pieces – 1 cup
·         Tomato – 1
·         Onion – 1
·         Ginger garlic paste – 1 table spoon
·         Coriander seeds  (धने ) – 1 tea spoon
·         Cumin seeds  (जीरे ) – ½ tea spoon
·         Coriander leaves (कोथंबीर )
·         Oil – 3 table spoon





METHOD
1)      Apply salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice to the Bangdas and set aside for 10 minutes.


2)       Chopp one onion and saute it on pan adding some oil in it. This onion is use in masala preparation .


3)      Grind  together this saute  onion, coconut, tomato, coriander leaves, ginger garlic paste, seeds of coriander and cumin(if you have powder then use powder of coriander and cumin) and make a fine paste.


4)  Heat oil in pan. Add cumin seeds,  chopped onion and saute it till onion becomes translucent.



5)      Then add grated masala into it. Add chili powder, salt as per taste and stir it for some time. Then add 1 cup water in this masala and add Bangdas into masala and cook till Bangda cooks.






Serve hot with bhakari or hot steamed rice.
