Tikhat besan vadi is the Maharashtrian recipe which can be eat with Bhakari /
Chapati or eat as a tea time snack.

Makes – 4 servings
INGREDIENTS

Gram flour (besan) – 1 ½ cup
·
Rice flour (chaval ka ata) – 2 table spoon
·
Chilli powder – 2 table spoon
·
Salt – as per taste
·
Oil – 3 table spoon
·
Baking soda – 1 pinch
For tampering
·
Onion – 1 chopped
·
Curry leaves ( kadipatta) – 6 to 7 leaves
·
Grated coconut and coriander for garnishing
MAKING OF TIKHAT BESAN VADI
1)
Mix gram flour ,rice flour, chilli powder, salt,
coriander leaves with water. Add 1 pinch baking soda. The consistency of batter
is medium thick.
3) When onion made translucent then add gram
flour mixture and simmer it till it becomes thick . Stir the mixture
continuously to avoid lumps.
4) Cover the pan with lid and cook
for 1 to 2 mints. After 2 mints. Off the flame.
5) grease a big plate with oil and
spread the cooked mixture evenly. Now spread grated coconut and coriander on it
and allow to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
6) Now after 10 mints. Cut in
squares and garnish with Bhakri /Chapati
