METHICHI BHAJI / METHIKI SABZI /मेथीची भाजी







                                                                         Methi  chi bhaji

Today I will share a simple recipe of  Methi  chi bhaji. This Maharashtrian style Methi sabzi cooks along with toor dal or moong dal. Dal gives nice flavour to this sabzi. I use toor dal for this recipe.

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients
·         Methi leaves – 1 bunch
·         Onion -1 big onion
·         Green chillies – 3 to 4
·         Toor dal or moong dal -3 table spoons
·         Turmeric powder (haldi) – ¼  tea spoon
·         Jeera  ½  tea spoon
·         Cooking oil – 2 to 3 table spoons
·         Salt to tase















MAKING OF METHICHI BHAJI

1)     First clean the Methi and wash it.Allow to drain the water.


2)     Soak the toor dal in bowl for about 10 mins. Before preparing the sabzi.You can also use moong dal instead of toor dal.
3)     Chopp the Methi leaves. Also chopp onion and green chillies.
4)     Place pan on heat and warm some oil.
5)     In warm oil add jeera , onion and green chillies. Soute them for 2-3 minutes.


6)     When onion becomes translusant add chopped Mehti leaves, soaked toor dal/ moong dal , turmeric powder and salt as per your taste. Mix it well.



7)     Cover the pan with lid and cook on low flame.After some time stir it and add water if necessary otherwise don’t add water . Cook on steam.

                  Serve METHI CHI BHAJI along with Chapati / Bhakri.
